Inklu:City

Inclusion and Diversity in Urban Spaces (2014-2016)

The ibk has been conducting from 2014 to 2016 a multi-stage research and evaluation of the inclusive cultural project “Inklu:City”. The arts project has been realised in Cologne and three other Northrhine-Westphalian cities by in:takt e.V. Inklu:City focusses on urban spaces that diverse people and groups experience and organise in completely different ways – depending on age, gender, ethnic background, religious identity, sexual orientation, class or handicap. Between October 2014 and May 2015 a heterogenous ensemble of persons, each of them an expert of his/her personal living environment, developed a theatre performance that was premiered at Cologne Sommerblut Festival 2015. The experiences and findings of this performative process were  transferred to other sociocultural centres in Northrhine-Westphalia (Theater im Depot Dortmund, Zeche Carl Essen, zakk Düsseldorf) where own inclusive arts projects were produced in a follow-up.

In May 2016 the international conference ALL IN reflected the results of the research and evaluation together with international experts in inclusive arts.
